Set your Heart and Mind ‘Above’

Colossians‬ 3:1-4‬ NIV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.”

Psalm 125:4 says, “God will be good to those whose hearts are in tune with Him.” Notice that you can be in tune or out of tune with God. The way you get in tune is by thinking victorious, overcoming, faith-filled thoughts. 

Our minds are like a war zone.  If we can win in our mind we can overcome anything the devil throws at us. Our greatest battle will always be in our mind. Scripture tells us that the devil comes to kill, steal and destroy and the place he attacks us daily is in our Mind. He doesn’t want you to have a blessed and happy life here on earth and he doesn’t want to be in hell alone. Satan want us to stay immature and lonely.

What does it mean when the scripture tells us “Set Your minds” on things above? It means set your mind on heaven.

Colossians‬ 3:2‬ TPT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ “Yes, feast on all the treasures of the heavenly realm and fill your thoughts with heavenly realities, and not with the distractions of the natural realm.” In other words magnify your thoughts, enlarge your thinking. 

When Paul urges us to set our minds and keep them set, he means that if we want to live a blessed life, a life that honors God, we cannot think about things that are negative, common and ungodly. My husband always says, ”Where the mind goes, the power flows”.

Declare with me : By setting my mind in the right direction and keeping my mind set on things above, I will have a victorious life. I want you to pay attention to what you thinking about. Remember You fill your container with what you constantly dwell  on.  When we allow negative emotions in our mind, they take up space we need for the good things that should be there. You were created to be filled with joy, peace, confidence, and creativity. But if you allow worry in, it pushes out the good things.  There’s not enough space for both.

Is what you thinking about what you want in your season right now? Is your mind and heart set on weak defeated thoughts like “I cant do it”, or are you thinking powerful positive thoughts ?

Such as :

I can do all things set before me

I am well able

God is fighting my battles

Something good is about to happen to me today

I am His beloved

I walk by faith and not by sight

I trust and hope that you will always remember how powerful your thoughts are. A made up mind is very powerful. What you set your heart and mind on will determine the quality of your life.

I pray and declare over you that from today the devil will not control your mind any longer. May the mindset of Jesus become your motivation. Line your thoughts up with the word of God and you will have a blessed life

Philippians‬ 2:5‬ TPT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ “And consider the example that Jesus, the Anointed One, has set before us. Let his mindset become your motivation.”

Get up and refuse to let the enemy win in your mind, you are strong, powerful and full of great faith. Quitting is not an option for you.
