The Word of God: A Lion Unleashed!
“The Word of God is like a lion. You don't have to defend a lion. All you have to do is let the lion loose, and it will defend itself." Charles Spurgeon
The Word of God is not merely a collection of words on a page; it is a powerful force that shapes our present and future. As believers, it is our privilege and responsibility to unleash this power in our lives.
Why do some believers fail to utilize the Word of God as the powerful weapon it is? Perhaps it is because they are unaware of how to wield it effectively.
Let’s explore some truths about the Word of God and how we can apply them to our lives:
A. The Word of God Builds us up.
Romans 10:17 (NLT) reminds us that faith comes from hearing the Good News about Christ.
By aligning our words with the Word of God, we can increase our faith and see the manifestation of God’s power in our lives.
B. We have the authority to Send the written Word!
Psalms 107:20 (NKJV) “He sent His word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions.”
We, too, can send the Word into our future to accomplish His purpose and plans. We can send it to heal, to bring breakthroughs, provisions, and so much more.
Isaiah 55:11 (TPT) “So also will be the Word that I speak; it does not return to me unfulfilled. My Word performs My purpose and fulfils the mission I sent it out to accomplish."
The written Word is our inheritance, and through His Word, He shows us what our future looks like. But we determine it by the way we think and speak. Here are a few scriptures that will build you strong in Him as you confess about the promises that God has for your future. Study these scriptures and meditate on them, for you will live a long and happy life.
1. My inheritance—the Word of His Grace.
”And now [brethren], I commit you to God [I deposit you in His charge, entrusting you to His protection and care]. And I commend you to the Word of His grace [to the commands and counsels and promises of His unmerited favor]. It is able to build you up and to give you [your rightful] inheritance among all God's set-apart ones (those consecrated, purified, and transformed of soul).” Acts 20:32 (AMPC)
2. My Inheritance – Protection.
”He will keep you from every form of evil or calamity as he continuously watches over you. You will be guarded by God himself. You will be safe when you leave your home, and safely you will return. He will protect you now, and he’ll protect you forevermore!” Psalms 121:7-8 (TPT)
3. My Inheritance - healthy and a clear mind.
”For the sense and reason of the flesh is death, but the mind-set controlled by the Spirit finds life and peace. In fact, the mind-set focused on the flesh fights God’s plan and refuses to submit to his direction, because it cannot!” Romans 8:6-7 (TPT)
”Even to your old age I am He, and even to hair white with age will I carry you. I have made, and I will bear; yes, I will carry and will save you.” Isaiah 46:4 (AMPC)
The word of God has the power to carry you, even as you grow old in age. You can live a long and healthy life as long as you keep God’s Word in your spirit. WOW I am astounded by the promises of God’s written Word.
4. My Inheritance - A Prosperous life.
”If they obey and serve Him, they shall spend their days in prosperity and their years in pleasantness and joy.” Job 36:11 (AMPC)
5. My inheritance - direction in decision-making.
”Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105
6. My inheritance - The Ministry of Reconciliation.
”But all things are from God, Who through Jesus Christ reconciled us to Himself [received us into favor, brought us into harmony with Himself] and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation [that by word and deed we might aim to bring others into harmony with Him].” 2 Corinthians 5:18 (AMPC)
7. My inheritance – A blessing in every season.
”[Most] blessed is the man who believes in, trusts in, and relies on the Lord, and whose hope and confidence the Lord is. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters that spreads out its roots by the river; and it shall not see and fear when heat comes; but its leaf shall be green. It shall not be anxious and full of care in the year of drought, nor shall it cease yielding fruit.” Jeremiah 17:7-8 (AMPC)
The Word of God has the power to carry us through every season of life, from youth to old age. As we speak the Word over our lives, we will see remarkable changes in every area.
I want to encourage you to speak the Word over your life and see the remarkable change it will bring to every part of your being. Let us unleash the power of God’s Word and walk in the fullness of His promises.
Forgive quickly
Love deeply
